Ms. Tinsley’s Second Grade Class
WOW! What a great first
week of school!!
The
students and I have spent a great deal of time getting to know one another and
building a strong sense of community in our classroom. Speaking of community I
would like to thank you all for helping with the “Me Bags”. They were a real
success and a real joy to present!!!
We’ve
also spent a great deal of time working on procedures to help our classroom run
smoothly. One way we’re helping our classroom run smoothly is by assigning jobs
to each student. Everyone filled out a job application for the job they wanted and in
that application they explained why they thought that would be a good job for
them. They all seem to be really excited about their jobs and are taking them
very seriously.
This week
We
will continue to work on our classroom procedures and strengthening our
community. We will also begin some writing and math activities, so that I can
see where each student is and where to begin our instructional time.
Starting Monday students will
bring home their take home binder. This binder will go home every day and come
back to school every day. It will contain their weekly homework assignment, school newsletter, classroom
newsletter, a communication
folder where you can place any messages or information for me to see,
and their behavior calendar.
I ask that you initial or sign on each day of their behavior calendar so that I
know you’ve seen it.
I’m
excited to see what this week holds! If you have any questions feel free to
contact me!
