Week 33
3-D Shapes
We’ve been diving into 3-D shapes and
their attributes these past two weeks! The kids have had fun taking the shapes
apart and putting them back together. They’ve been noticing similarities and
differences between the different shapes. I love that they’ve been noticing
these different shapes around them!
Circuits
As you all know from our in-school
field trip, we have been learning about circuits. Well this week we FINALLY
received our own class circuit kit. We’ve been building multiple circuits with
different types of switches and devices that we’ve connected to them. The kids
have enjoyed creating the circuits and figuring out how all the pieces work.
Chess
Mrs. Jones has been so gracious to
teach both our class and myself how to play chess. This is a new experience for
us all and learning the rules to chess has been quite entertaining and fun! The
kids have been learning how to maneuver the pieces and have been challenging
students in both our class and Mrs. Jones’ class. We will be having our chess
tournament on the 31st of this month!
Exploration Time
The kids love to use their
exploration time to dig into new things. A few of the kids worked together to
create a domino cascade. It didn’t quite work as they planned, but they are
sifting through the kinks to make it work properly!
Club Day
As always, club day was a blast!
Girls on the Run
We did it…we did it…HOOOOORAY! Our
young ladies (Tyla, Angel, Jordynn, Juliana, and Samaria) from Girls
on the Run finished up their program and even more importantly made it
through the challenging 5k run! I am so proud of these young ladies!
